Could You Be A Hero?
Our friend Laura Johnson is in need of assistance. She needs a Kidney – can you help? Please read and consider being her hero.
She recently travelled to Boston to meet the Kidney Transplant Team at Tufts Medical Center. She met the social worker, both surgeons, transplant coordinator, nutritionist and pharmacist.
Fortunately, because she is in relatively good health, her chances at having a long lasting viable kidney donated to her is excellent – so she has that in her favor.
The not so great news is that it could take up to 3 years to receive a kidney, unless there is a live donor.
Laura is O positive so she needs an O donor. Other blood types will not work but if there is a cross match available then they will take it.
For those of you who are willing to be considered to be a live donor here is the link to complete your information: Www.livingdonortufts.org
You will need her birthdate 04-27-1972
Laura continues to work her two jobs; she will continue to be an amazing mom and friend. She will continue to do everything that she loves to do until she cannot. She is hoping to make it at least a few more years without dialysis. Laura never asks for anything unless there is no way for her to do it on her own. She is strong and independent.
